Forming and Advising Businesses In this course, the participants will become familiar with the various structures in which businesses in the United States are organized—primarily closed corporations and private companies. Participants will progress from agency, to partnerships, to limited partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies, exploring the similarities and differences among these business forms. They will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of structuring and operating a business of each type. Comparisons will be made with the laws of various U.S. and non-U.S. jurisdictions, in each case taking into account the tax implications. Upon completing the course participants will be prepared to assist clients in selecting business structures.
