In this course participants will explore the role of money in the U.S. economy and the roles of banks and alternative financing institutions in creating money and a nation’s payment mechanisms.  They will explore the regulatory environment in which banks operate, trends that will affect banking, and the authority and function of the U.S. Federal Reserve in implementing U.S. monetary policy.
